The course is essential for any pilots, rescue crew or medical crews who work on helicopters particularly if your area of operations includes a body of water. It is also important for medical students who intend to undertake electives with NGOs or in regions where they may work on a helicopter. It teaches students the knowledge and skills to egress from a helicopter when ditched in water and how to survive whilst awaiting rescue. The course is taught in both Auckland and on Queenslands Gold Coast throughout the year.

HUET certification is a requirement of Ambulance New Zealand and The Aviation Industry of New Zealand for all aeromedical crew and should be considered essential crew training for all Air Rescue servce providers.
